DeTar Healthcare System to Host Health Fair

VICTORIA, Texas – On Thursday, September 14, DeTar Healthcare System will host the Healthcare Heroes Health Fair in the Victoria Community Center Annex. The community is invited to come out and learn more about the quality healthcare services available throughout the South Texas Crossroads.
The health fair will feature more than 40 booths with representatives showcasing local cancer care, emergency services, assisted living and nursing homes, diabetes education, wound care, cooking demonstrations, health screenings and more. Throughout the day guest speakers will provide valuable health tips from the main stage during brief lectures on healthy aging, palliative care and hands-only CPR. Visitors will be able to step inside the Mega Lung inflatable exhibit to learn about the various structures and lung functions, observe examples of lung trauma and disease, and view displays explaining some of the latest respiratory medical treatments.
“We’re excited to be able to offer area residents the opportunity to visit with us outside of the traditional hospital or medical office setting,” said Bernard Leger, DeTar Healthcare System’s CEO. “This event provides attendees knowledge needed to become an informed health care consumer and encourages making lifestyle changes that prioritize well-being and improve overall health.”
The free event will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
